In the Naruto series, Orochimaru's fate is left somewhat ambiguous. After being defeated by Itachi and Sasuke, Orochimaru's body is taken over by Sasuke's Sharingan and he is seemingly killed. However, Orochimaru's consciousness survives and he is later seen inhabiting the body of a young boy named Mitsuki. This suggests that Orochimaru may not be truly dead, but rather exists in a different form. Therefore, it can be argued that Orochimaru is not completely dead, but rather continues to exist in a different state. **

Despite his immense power and knowledge, his unethical and villainous actions have prevented him from holding such a prestigious position. Instead, he has been a major antagonist in the Naruto series, constantly seeking power and immortality through unethical means. **
